なぜ羽子板を飾るのですか？

羽子板は、遠い昔から子どもの無事を願うあたたかい親心がこめられいると言われています。
お正月の羽根突きは、江戸時代からの女の子の遊びです。 羽子板で突く羽根の玉、その黒くて堅い玉は「無患子」（むくろじ）という木の種で、漢字からすると「こどもが患わない」という意味を含んでいます。 また、古来より羽根の形をトンボに見立てて、トンボが蚊を食べる益虫であることから、夏になっても蚊に食われることがない（蚊から病気を拾わない）と、長い間信じられてきました。
